What is Nuwa?

Wazdan has boosted its presence in the Eastern European market, with the company signing a new content alliance with SlyBet, a prominent provider of iGaming experiences for the local market. 

The online casino has benefited from the supplier’s advanced and player-favorite titles since August 10, 2026, but the partnership was only announced recently. The implementation of Wazdan content was made possible through EGT Digital. 

Wazdan is already present in the Bulgarian iGaming market, which has been expanding rapidly over the past several years. Notably, the supplier has teamed up with WINBET and ELITBET in the past, two other prominent local operators, with SlyBet only adding to the company’s local footprint and momentum.

This segment is predominantly made up of Sun Bingo in the UK, a white label brand which Playtech said it was reviewing in March, due to the impact of the UK Remote Gaming Duty hike earlier this year.

Regarding further investment into the company, it said high-growth verticals like live casino were receiving targeted capital deployment, while in terms of geography, the Americas remained a core focal point for the company. It expects to reach profitability in the US this year.

The timing is significant. The illegal gambling market is attracting growing attention from regulators and the wider industry, while estimates of its size vary considerably depending on definitions and methodology.

A recent Fincord Intelligence report highlighted by the Betting and Gaming Council estimated that illegal online gambling generated around $50 billion in gross revenue globally in 2025. It estimated that around 5,000 operator structures were using more than 15,000 websites and apps.

Other estimates are considerably higher, illustrating how difficult the market is to measure. As an example, separate research from Gaming Compliance International put the value of unregulated online gambling at $5.9 trillion in wagering value in 2025, while estimating that unregulated operators accounted for 78% of global online gaming GGR.
